Overview

The English Literature and Cultural Studies program at Cankaya University has been specially designed to guide students who are open to different ideas and willing to learn, on cultural and social issues as well as literature, and to develop students' interpretation, discussion and critical thinking skills.

Literary and cultural studies, with interdisciplinary and international approaches, focus on literary and cultural texts and products as well as examining the concepts and methods that influence and shape interpretation.

Key Features

This approach also reflects the general educational purpose of the department. The aim is not only to transfer existing knowledge, but also to question how literary and cultural concepts and methods are produced and used by developing new forms of knowledge and understanding.

Therefore, the master's program focuses on literature with various theoretical, philosophical, cultural and interdisciplinary elements.

Concepts and methods are constantly changing, as the critical framework is constantly evolving and changing.
