Overview

Building a strong foundation is one of the key requirements of any education system. In this regard, an effective, efficient, robust, future oriented and student centred elementary education plays a pivotal role.

The relatively newly introduced B.Ed. (Hons) programme is a step in this direction. B.Ed. (Hons) programme aims to providing the new entrants with a number of foundation courses that help students in their effective transition to pedagogical and content courses.

In addition to strengthening content-specific knowledge of the students, courses are offered for bringing  about pedagogical knowledge, skills and attitudinal change amongst the learners for developing an understanding of child psychology, creative abilities of children, and using child-centred inquiry based teaching for student learning and development.

About the Course

The Education program of the University of Peshawar aims to:

• develop prospective and in-service teachers as reflective practitioners;

• enabling prospective and in-service teachers improving teaching, learning, assessment and leadership and management practices in educational institutions;

• helping teachers developing a broad understanding of significant issues in education with an in-depth knowledge of a specialized area.
