Overview
The academic and research activities in the Control and Automation programme from National Institute of Technology, Rourkela focus on the frontier areas of electrical engineering such as power quality studies, distributed generation, soft switching of converters, inverter design, control strategies for complex systems including robotics systems & networked control systems, high voltage & insulation research, signal and image processing.
Objectives
- Postgraduates will be able to demonstrate knowledge in control theory, estimation theory, optimization theory, embedded systems, and automation techniques
- Postgraduates will be able to independently analyze, identify, formulate, and solve practical problems, in the field of control, through simulation and hardware design
- Postgraduates will develop a sense of self-assurance, integrity, and technical strengths for innovation, and the communicative and collaborative skills to bring forth new ideas in a group
