Overview

The department has laboratories catering to all the subjects of studies. Faculty members of the department are working in different specializations under the groups: Communication engineering, VLSI and embedded systems, Signal Processing and Instrumentation. Many research projects are being pursued by faculty members with funding from organizations like ISRO, DST, DRDO and BRFST.

Objectives

An ability to independently carry out research /investigation and development work to solve practical problems in VLSI Design and Embedded Systems

An ability to write and present a substantial technical report/document. Students should present their reading and writing skills related to the subject topic under consideration

Students at National Institute of Technology, Rourkela should be able to demonstrate a degree of mastery over the area of VLSI Design and Embedded Systems. The mastery should be at a level higher than the requirements of undergraduate program in Electronics and Communication Engineering
