You can personalize your degree by focusing on an area of interest to you. One of our strengths is our partnerships with other UToledo departments and colleges, especially UToledo Law and the Economics and Geography and Planning departments.

Public Administration master's degree highlights at The University of Toledo

Flexibility. Enroll part time or full time. Take online, in-person or blended courses. We cater to working professionals. All of our core M.P.A. classes are offered online or after 4 p.m. from Monday through Thursday.

Dual J.D./M.P.A. degree. Law and public administration are a natural fit. Receive double credit for your course work — 12 credit hours can be used toward both degrees.

Make yourself more marketable. Add a 12-hour graduate certificate in:

Municipal administration
Nonprofit management
GIS (Geographic Information Science and Applied Geographics)

Early admission. Get a head start in the master’s program if you are an advanced UToledo undergraduate who is:

Majoring in any of the social sciences or

Minoring in political science or public administration

Graduates of the public administration master’s degree program are well prepared to step into leadership positions in government and at nonprofit agencies.

Four-year Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited college or university

The GMAT is only required for applicants with a GPA below 2.7 or applicants seeking Graduate Assistantship opportunities. Applicants with a GPA below 2.7 can be considered for a waiver at the discretion of the Associate Dean.
The College of Graduate Studies requires official transcripts from all universities/colleges you are currently attending or have attended. Official transcripts are those sent directly from the institution to the College of Graduate Studies. Transcripts not received directly from the institution will be considered unofficial. For application review purposes only, copies of official transcripts can be considered.
