Leveraging methods for user-centered design, design theory, and current research in UX, the program covers all aspects of the design process – from user studies and concept development, via mockups, sketches, scenarios and prototypes, to the design and development of digital systems, including testing and evaluation – within a comprehensive set of application areas such as working life, leisure activities, digital entertainment, and information management.
Umea University's Human Computer Interaction and User Experience program combines theory and practice as a way for students to develop their abilities to understand, analyze and design for human computer interaction and user experience. This way of working demands and develops a high degree of independence, initiative, and creativity among the students, something that serves them well in their future careers. With a clear structure and a solid core of courses in informatics combined with elective ones, the program offers the possibility for each student to tailor the master’s program in their own personal way.
