Overview
The degree programme shall provide the student with the knowledge of fundamental terms of geological, biological, geochemical and physical processes in the ocean. Both basic and applied research are the objectives of the programme. As a result of the extensive marine sciences spectrum at CAU, the Marine Geosciences from University of Kiel programme offers an insight into modern research topics.
Quick Facts:
- The graduate will be able to create and critically assess scientific results and to plan, carry out and evaluate ship and laboratory projects on their own responsibility. Its specific characteristic closely relates to the marine oriented research units at the Institute of Geosciences at CAU Kiel, in intently collaboration with the highly research oriented Helmholtz Centre of Ocean Research GEOMAR.
- It is precisely this collaboration that verifies interdisciplinary and sound professional education and serves to provide the students with qualifications to work successfully in companies, universities or in other public institutions both at home and abroad. Since the research of marine sciences is mainly international oriented, this programme is designed as an international study and all courses are offered in English.
