General requirements
Who is an international student?
- An applicant must have foreign nationality and has never studied in Taiwan before as an overseas Chinese student at the time of application.
- An applicant has never been admitted through admission placement by the University Entrance Committee for Overseas Chinese studnet in the year of application.
- An applicant must apply in accordance with the "Regulations Regarding International Students Undertaking Studies in Taiwan" by the Ministry of Education.
International applicants:
- with a high school diploma are eligible to apply for undergraduate programmes;
- with a bachelor's degree are eligible to apply for master's degree programmes;
- with a master's degree are eligible to apply for a Ph.D. programme.
You do not need to Chinese if you intend to enroll in an international degree programme or English-taught programme. You can also attend a language course to improve your Chinese language skills.

The living costs include the total expenses per month, covering accommodation, public transportation, utilities (electricity, internet), books and groceries.
Funding
- First academic year: International students with English Proficiency TOEFL IPT 550 or equivalent proficiency can get Providence Grant which is the same amount of tuition fee.
- From the second year: International students can apply for Providence Grant based on their academic performance and class ranking.
