Research component:
- The MPhil degree is a postgraduate programme that focuses on research work. The programme offers an introductory experience to research studies and is suitable for those who wish to later pursue a PhD degree or become professionals in their specialised area.
- MPhil candidates may commence their studies on September 1 or January 1 for a period of 24 months (full-time) or 36 months (part-time). The minimum study period is half of the study period.
- MPhil students will receive ongoing advice and guidance from a dedicated academic or a team of academics in conducting research and thesis writing. In addition, students will be required to follow an approved course of study and research, including coursework on discipline-specific knowledge, language and research skills. The coursework component is well designed to equip students for their research work and thesis writing.

Minimum Entrance Requirement
- MPhil
- Bachelor's degree with Honours at Second Class Division I or above; OR
- Bachelor's degree with Honours at Second Class Division II, AND a taught Master's degree (preferably with Second Class Honours Division I).
