Overview

Central topics in the program are the convergence of public and private spheres, intermediality and transmediality, participatory art and gaming practices, the Anthropocene and new responsibilities for the earth, and urgent media topics such as migration and sustainability. Develop communicative skills such as writing, analyzing and interpreting texts and images, critical reflection on societal issues, and participating in public debates.  You combine and reflect on theories from different disciplines, including media, cultural and literary studies, sociology, and philosophy.

Analyze what the implications are of digital, cultural, artistic and societal developments on society, and learn how to communicate this professionally.

• This Master’s program offers an online education option, allowing students and professionals to expand their knowledge and skills entirely virtually using digital tools.

Career prospects

Become a communication and culture professional, capable of analyzing, understanding and evaluating various digital infrastructures and their consequences for everyday life,  ready to perform a pivotal role in ongoing digital and societal developments. You will find jobs in the field of (digital) journalism, culture, communication, education and research.
