General requirements
- a second class honours degree with 120 credits in History validated by a higher education institution in the United Kingdom or a degree of an equivalent standard from an institution outside the United Kingdom
- the degree should contain at least 80 credits from a range of the following subjects:
- British History
- Scottish History
- European History
- World History
- a maximum of 40 SCQF credit points from Ancient History is acceptable
- high grades at Higher, Advanced Higher, especially in History can be an added advantage
- Higher (SCQF Level 6) English Grade C or above
