The Data Science and Engineering programme at Politecnico di Torino aims to train multidisciplinary professionals (data scientists and data engineers) by providing strong methodological and engineering skills, high abstraction capabilities and an analytical approach to address data-driven problems.


The Data Science and Engineering programme at Politecnico di Torino aims to train engineers who will be able to manage the entire life cycle of the data analytics process, analyze the problem requirements, collect and store big amount of data, analyze data by means of mathematical and statistical models and machine learning algorithms, visualize information and finally use the extracted knowledge for decisional purposes. 

Humanistic disciplines

Many scientific and humanistic disciplines are today strongly characterized by a massive use of digital data, mainly used in the analyses underlying the decision-making processes. In all those disciplines, the interdisciplinary professionals who will be formed by the MSc degree in Data Science and Engineering are of fundamental importance.

English requirements

TOEFL admission requirements TOEFL® IBT The TOEFL iBT® is given online through the internet at designated testing site. The test measures your English-language abilities in an academic setting. The score refers to the total score of 4 subjects (writing, listening, speaking, and reading), each subject has a range of 0 - 30.
IELTS admission requirements IELTS The International English Language Test System (IELTS) tests your English-language proficiency on a scale of 1 – 9. The score refers to the combined average score of 4 subjects (writing, listening, speaking, and reading).
PTE Academic admission requirements PTE Academic PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English Academic) is a language test that enables students to demonstrate their writing, listening, speaking, and reading skills when applying to study in English. The score refers to a total score which ranges between 10 and 90.

General requirements

  • hold a Bachelor degree awarded by an accredited foreign university.
In case you are enrolled in a “single cycle” Laurea magistrale course (5 or 6 years degree program) and you have not yet graduated, you must have completed minimum 3 years at University level, having obtained at least 180 ECTS credits or equivalent. In case you obtained the high school diploma after 10 or 11 years of schooling, you must also have completed at least 15 years of previous education.
  • meet curricular and quality requirements of the MS program you want to apply for. 

Tuition Fee

The tuition fee depends on whether the students submit or not the tuition fee reduction application according to their income/properties and family members (ISEE Parificato).

  • For EU/EEA students, the sum changes from a minimum amount of 161 euro and a maximum of 2596,97 euro. 
  • For non-EU students living outside Italy and not belonging to a LDC, the amount of the tuition fee is calculated considering their country of origin.
