Overview
Consequently, the Ibero-American Studies academic programme at the Heidelberg University focuses on these linguistic and cultural interweavings across Ibero-America as well as literary traditions.
It is also concerned with contact phenomena that arise within linguistic and cultural regions across territorial, ethnic, political or religious boundaries. The focus lies on those areas of Hispanic and Lusitanian Literary and Cultural Studies, Linguistics, and Transcultural Studies that share a connection with transcultural contact phenomena in Latin America, the Iberian Peninsula, and between Europe and Latin America.
The successful completion of a Bachelor’s degree programme in a philological or cultural subject is a prerequisite for this degree programme. The programme itself is concerned with the literary, linguistic and cultural phenomena.
