- Graduates of the Engineering (Professional) MEng program offered at James Cook University will demonstrate in-depth knowledge of advanced engineering methods through their application in engineering practice. These include design processes, whole system approaches, contemporary project management tools, and decision-making strategies.

- Completion of a four-year Bachelor of Engineering at AQF Level 7 (or equivalent) in any discipline; or Completion of three years of the Bachelor of Engineering at Xi’an University of Technology (XUT) approved under the JCU-XUT Articulation Schedule only. Note: Entry for Master of Engineering (Professional) in Water Resource Management; Internet of Things and Data Engineering; and Electrical and Renewable Energy majors require completion of a four-year Bachelor of Engineering at AQF Level 7 (or equivalent) in a discipline cognate to the major.
