Overview
Classical Instrumental Musical Performance - Violin from Szechenyi Istvan University focuses on the awareness of the appropriate performance style for different genres and periods, the study of specific theoretical and historical material, the acquisition of methods for understanding complex music, the use of analytical tools, and a specific and comprehensive knowledge of the disciplines (theoretical and historical) related to the performing arts. The graduates will be prepared to do research in their given specialization, and to take part in further studies at the doctoral level.

- Instrumental audition requirements (for both the in-person and online entrance examinations):
- A Paganini caprice (Op.1) or a Wieniawski etude (Op.10)
- The first two movements from a solo sonata of J.S. Bach or the Chaconne
- The opening movement from one of the following violin concertos
- Certificate of any standardised international English language exam corresponding with Hungarian B2 at the Bachelors level and C1 at Master’s level issued by an accredited language centre/ academic institution.
- Additionally, please note that there is usually a musical proficiency test as part of the entrance exam.
