Overview
The Engineering Management programme at City University of Hong Kong is designed to equip students with:
- Advanced Managerial skills: Cultivate essential managerial skills, including behavioural, communication, and leadership abilities, facilitating an effective transition from the role of an engineer to that of an engineering manager;
- Integration of Engineering, Managerial, and Technological Knowledge: Enable students to integrate and apply engineering, managerial, and technological knowledge in the management of engineering projects, operations, products and services within engineering/manufacturing enterprises and departments;
- Innovation and Practical Implementation: empower students to generate innovative ideas, undertake engineering management projects and research, and utilize AI and other modern technologies to transform discoveries and innovative concepts into practical implementations.
Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this Programme, students should be able to:
- reflect on extensive knowledge in engineering management in supporting problem solving, decision making and undertaking projects of discovery and innovation;
- apply managerial skills, including, behavioural and communication skills, needed in the effective transition from the role of an engineer to that of an engineering manager;
- integrate and apply engineering and managerial knowledge in the management of engineering projects, operations, products and services in engineering/manufacturing enterprises and departments;
- be able to generate innovative ideas, to undertake engineering management projects/research and turn the discovery & innovative ideas into practical implementation;
- reflect on responsibility and sensitivity for environmental and societal concerns, inter-cultural issues and global development.

- hold a degree in engineering, science, management, or equivalent; or
- be a graduate member or a non-member qualified for graduate membership of professional institutions, for example, the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE), member institutions of the Engineering Council (UK) and other recognized professional institutions; or
- qualifications with evidence of academic and professional attainment acceptable to the University
