The field of Education and Digital Technologies within the program builds on the institutional strengths of information and communication technologies at UOIT. Students will take their courses completely online, which includes weekly video conferencing meetings.The Master of Education is an interactive online program that allows you to work with leading-edge technology and to be part of an international, dynamic, collaborative learning environment.The MEd program is available with either a course only or project option; however, all students will commence the program in the course only option. Students may request a transfer to the project option after the successful completion of the first four courses.FIELDSEducation and Digital Technologies builds on the institutional strengths of information and communication technologies at UOIT.

Academic Requirements

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 3 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of 3 or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

General Requirements

  • Hold a four-year honours undergraduate degree, or a three-year university degree and a Bachelor of Education degree, from a Canadian university or their equivalent from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum overall academic standing of a B (GPA: 3.0 on a 4.3 scale or 73 to 76 per cent), with a minimum B average in the last two full-time years (four semesters) of undergraduate work or equivalent.
