Overview
At the same time, the practical relevance of these concepts and methods is discussed and demonstrated in the seminars. Specific conflicts and cases are analysed within the courses offered and practical skills of conflict management are trained within special practice modules.
The Master's programme Peace and Conflict Studies (PACS) at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg courses focus on human rights issues, conflict analyses and normative issues of a global peace order. The PACS programme offers the students a broad education in theories and methods of peace and conflict study and enables them to develop the strong analytical and practical skills.
Competencies and Interests Required
The PACS programme is aimed primarily at graduates of Social Sciences and Humanities Courses (at least BA). In principle also graduates from other courses are allowed. Because this programme is a postgraduation course, students are expected to be familiar with techniques of scientific work.
The course is designed explicitly for international applicants. Applicants who are interested in a scholarship can apply directly through the DAAD and must not send a separate application to the Otto-von-Guericke University. Foreign interested applicants can also apply directly without a scholarship at the university
