Overview
The Skoltech Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning program aims to train young leaders in artificial intelligence research. We provide high-quality knowledge and skills in fundamental and applied disciplines such as deep learning, generative modeling, transformers and large language models, numerical linear algebra, and optimization. The courses are taught by top active researchers in AI with publications at A* conferences and dozens of successfully completed industrial projects.
The graduates are sought-after both in academia and industry. We also encourage and support the students in startup activities.
Tracks
Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence (ML&AI)
The program's main track comprises a small number of compulsory courses and a wide range of electives, which are updated annually to reflect the evolving landscape of artificial intelligence research. A student can create their personal educational path, for example, by emphasizing the study of optimization methods or choosing to become a guru of computer vision and generative models.
Joint track with Higher School of Economics
Math of Machine Learning (MML)
The track is designed for students, who are simultaneously passionate about mathematics and artificial intelligence. It encompasses mathematical statistics, machine learning, computational complexity, optimization, and information theories, and theoretical justification of AI models and methods.
Our program enables
- learning the mathematical and algorithmic foundations of AI
- conducting research in the field of AI, including on generative and multimodal models and in other cutting-edge domains
- creating efficient AI models to address practical problems
Future career
The graduates are sought-after both in academia and industry. They are also encouraged and provided with full support in startup activities.
- Industry: Alumni also secure mid-level to senior positions in data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence departments of innovative companies.
- Science: PhD positions at top universities are a common post-graduation destination.
- Startup: Some graduates choose to establish their own startups.
