The football industry has developed tremendously over the past years and continues its spectacular rise as witnessed by increases in TV rights deals, transfer numbers, and participation levels, to name just a few, around the world. Unfortunately, due to a lack of professionalism, transparency and ethics a lot of scandals keep taking place and more fans and stakeholders than ever are demanding change. And that is where The Football Business Academy comes into play.
Their mission is to meet this need for professionally trained leaders.
The Professional Master in Football Business from the Football Business Academy focuses on three pillars: Knowledge, Network, and Experience.
Throughout the four modules of the 12-month program, Candidates will be engaged through online courses, guest lectures, active participation at business events, a provided internship in football clubs, associations or football related companies, on-site courses in Geneva and workshops, insightful Field Trips across top European clubs, stadiums, football-related institutions, and a Student Business Project which consists of working on a consulting mission for a football club/league or other FBA Partner.
Having the combination of these different elements and in a structured way is essential in order to understand the intricacies of such a dynamic and fast-paced industry, and The FBA care about making sure its Candidates can easily find a job after their graduation while being fully capable to add real value and help transform it.
The 12 month Professional Master in FB is divided into 4 modules.
In order to deliver the best football business leaders of tomorrow, we believe it is essential for our Candidates to gain knowledge of the football industry across all three dimensions: the past, as a cultural sensibility is essential to understand the origins and (recent) history of the sport; the present, in order to discover all football stakeholders and analyse the best practices; and future, because in this ever moving industry, it is crucial to come with an innovative mind, with new ideas and solutions to better address today’s key issues and develop tomorrow’s opportunities.
The FBA is pleased to witness that 90% of their Alumni find a job in the industry within only 3 months after graduating and are currently working for companies such as Puma, Atlanta United FC, SL Benfica or world class football agencies such as Avid Sports & Entertainment (representing players such as Aaron Ramsey) and Entourage Sports & Entertainment (working with players such as Lionel Messi).
The FBA Candidates are inspired and mentored by the likes of Alfonso Roberes (former Head of International Sponsorship at Real Madrid), Mayi Cruz Blanco (former Head of Women’s Football Development, FIFA), Dennis Thom (Head of Marketing, Borussia Dortmund), Giuliano Giorgetti (Media Content Director, Inter Milan), Jérôme Champagne (former FIFA presidential candidate), and many others.
