Overview

During your MA in Film and Television Production at University of East Anglia , your creative development will be nurtured by our team of real-world industry professionals, world-leading media researchers and dedicated media technicians. You will work in our professional facilities including our newly updated Television Studio, Editing Suites, Recording Studios and have access to a full range of industry standard equipment – cameras, lighting, sound gear and software – for your coursework as well as your personal projects.

Studying in Norwich – the creative centre of the East of England – you’ll build your network of likeminded creatives. Norwich is home to a range of regional film and media production companies, including Eye Film, Ember Films, SubMotion, and October Media. It has a thriving music scene of local, national and international acts and renowned venues. It's a hub of YouTube and social media production. It hosts cultural events such as the Norwich Film Festival, Norwich Games Festival and UEA's own Green Film Festival. This ideal creative ecosystem will fuel your own creative journey.

When you graduate, you’ll be poised to enter the media industries, equipped with creativity, technical know-how, and an understanding of the industry. Perhaps you want to become a writer, producer, or director, or a media executive. Perhaps you want to refine your creativity as a way of understanding film and television before you take your transferable skills in communication, teamworking, and self-management into a career in marketing, advertising, the charity sector, or other business pursuit. Or perhaps you’ll build on your MA studies and pursue a PhD. Whatever direction you choose to take, this MA will be the start of an exciting journey.
