Overview

Psychology - Developmental Psychology from Maastricht University will help you understand how certain behaviours and cognitive functions relate to a person’s psychological and biological constitution and the development of the brain. The cognitive-biological orientation of this programme is unique in Europe. You’ll study the most recent developmental theories and research findings. And you’ll learn to apply various diagnostic and research tools in the clinical field and developmental research.

Careers

The master's degree in Psychology with a specialisation in Developmental Psychology provides an excellent basis for several career paths. Most graduates end up working as psychologists in applied or medical settings, such as mental health or educational institutions. Some have also become researchers in academic or clinical settings. As a developmental psychologist, you can work with children, adults or elderly people.

In order to determine if a bachelor’s and/or master’s degree is equivalent to a Dutch university bachelor’s and/or master’s degree, the Board of Admissions makes use of NUFFIC diploma recognition. NUFFIC issues recommendations on the value of higher or secondary education diplomas obtained outside the Netherlands. Where possible, the foreign diploma is compared to a Dutch diploma.
