The coursework enables students to acquire detailed knowledge of the principles and practice of prosthodontics, including study of the materials and technologies commonly employed.

The programme in Prosthodontics at The University of Hong Kong will include lectures, tutorials, clinical and paraclinical assignments, written work, training in research methods, and a supervised research project. It also includes courses of study in related disciplines.

The HKU Faculty of Dentistry is the only dental school in Hong Kong, and is considered to be the premier centre for postgraduate dental education and training globally.

Students enjoy first-class facilities, including state-of-the-art laboratories, comprehensive library services, a Postgraduate Habitat, and assistance provided by dental surgery assistants, dental technicians, dental hygienists, and laboratory technicians. 

Currently, about 180 students from China, various parts of Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and Australia etc. are engaged in postgraduate studies at our Faculty. Our teaching staff are international both by origin and academic background, and are highly recognized experts in their domain in the world.

Academic Requirements

  • This programme does not recognise GRE® scores.

    The GRE® General Test is a widely administered admissions test that measures the skills needed in today's graduate and business school programs worldwide. The GRE® General Test contains three sections - Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, and Analytical Writing. Three scores are reported: a Verbal Reasoning score on a 130 - 170 score scale in one-point increments, a Quantitative Reasoning score on a 130 - 170 score scale in one-point increments, and an Analytical Writing score on a 0 - 6 score scale in half-point increments.
