Overview
The purpose of Mathematical Engineering graduate program at Yildiz Technical University is to give students the ability to reach the knowledge with basic and applied knowledge of mathematics and to give students the ability to evaluation and interpretation of the information.
During the course process, under the knowledge of supervisor students selects courses and scientific background is gained by the student. After the course process the process of thesis is started.
Features
During the thesis process students can take a new course or participate in seminars or other similar events. In the initial phase of the thesis process, students explore issues through seminars and literature review.
After the acceptance of the subject of the thesis proposal candidate prepares Master’s thesis under the supervision of the advisor.
After the defending his thesis in front of the jury, the candidate take a master’s degree whether the evaluation of the jury is positive.

General requirements
- To study in the graduate programs, the students are required to take an exam called “ALES” (Academic Personnel and Graduate Education Exam), which is also administered by ÖSYM, and submit this score with their application. GRE or GMAT can also be a substitute of ALES. The applicants have to meet additional program requirements defined by the universities.
- In Turkey, the universities have the right to define the admission criteria themselves and these admission criteria have to be approved by Higher Education Council of Turkey (YÖK).
