This Executive Master in Media Innovation programme from Breda University of Applied Sciences (BUAS) has a multidisciplinary perspective. You will learn how to look beyond the surface of digital media and distinguish crucial digital processes. You will also learn how to transform these analytical insights into the building blocks that are needed to construct tomorrow’s media products.
The programme lasts one year. For your graduation project, you will conceive an original media innovation product or service which you will actually bring into the market.
The staff members have close relations with the industry, which offers you the possibility to get in touch with investors or stakeholders who may help you bring your innovative concept to reality. This master’s programme is the first government-funded and accredited professional master’s programme in the field of media in the Netherlands.

Quality mark for degree programmes in Keuzegids Hbo 2019
Breda University of Applied Sciences achieved high scores in Keuzegids Hbo 2019. No fewer than three degree programmes - International Facility Management, Hotel Management and Creative Media and Game Technologies - were awarded a Keuzegids quality mark. This means that these degree programmes have received the designation ‘Top-rated programme’ and are among the best in the Netherlands in their respective categories.
Keuzegids Hbo 2019 is the most important independent league table which assesses and compares the quality of higher education programmes in the Netherlands, thus helping students to make informed choices about where to study. Degree programmes are ranked on the basis of various criteria, such as academic success, curriculum content, the quality of lecturers and educational facilities, and preparation for a career in the field in which students wish to graduate.
Innovation in the creative media industry is a hot topic in many countries. Up until now, however, there is a persistent gap.
The guiding principle of this programme is that successful media innovations are often not brand new, but rather, they build on existing, recognisable elements.
Next to the delivery of top class post-graduates, the purpose of this executive master’s programme Media Innovation is to give media professionals the ability to ‘bring something new into use’. In their final project, students will develop, prototype and (pre-)produce media innovations.
