Overview

The Petroleum Engineering Department of the University of Miskolc is the only institution in Hungary offering Petroleum Engineering programs. We have been training capable petroleum engineering graduates since 1951 and have awarded more than 800 M.S. degrees so far.

Quick Facts:

Our graduates work in all sectors of the Hungarian petroleum and gas industry and in many of the oil producing countries of the world. We started offering graduate programs in English for international students more than 25 years ago. Our curricula are comparable to those offered by leading US schools and provide students comprehensive engineering and advanced courses.
Graduates possess the theoretical knowledge needed to carry out and manage exploration and production tasks in their area of expertise at a level that meets international standards of petroleum companies.

Curriculum Vitae (CV) (Europass format)
Motivation letter (written in 3000-3500 characters)
Certified and translated copy of BSc or BEng degree (minimum 6 semesters) in Petroleum engineering, Petroleum Geology, or Chemical engineering in condition if it includes some petroleum upstream courses
Official copy of the language examination certificate (minimum level: B2) OR an official document, issued by the previous university, confirming that the language of instruction was English
Successful online entry exam
Medical certificate, vaccination card and HIV test (not earlier than 3 months prior to application)
Copy of valid passport / national ID
Proof of payment of 150 EUR application fee
