The programme has a strong focus on integrating education, research and business modules in its curriculum, with active industry involvement.

The master's programme in ICT Innovation KTH ’s main subject is Computer Science and Electrical Engineering. The programme at KTH Royal Institute of Technology  combines advanced technical education in information and communication technology (90.0 ECTS credits) with business-oriented courses focusing on innovation and entrepreneurship (30.0 ECTS credits).

Innovation and Entrepreneurship (I&E) education within the ICT Innovation master´s programme prepares future ICT engineers to exercise an entrepreneurial mindset to contribute to digital transformation. The courses focusing on I&E are taken by all students in the programme, regardless of the chosen track.

There are six tracks offered through the programme that provides further technical specialisation.


With the business-oriented focus combined with the technical specialisation, students will find a plenitude of jobs and carriers opportunities. Examples of includes; innovative start-ups, research-driven organisations and advanced IT business worldwide. 

The programme works closely with a wide range of first-class businesses to connect and prepare students for their future careers. You will interact with business and industry partners throughout the whole programme. You will also get the chance to prepare your master’s thesis with our partners on real-life projects. In addition to improving students cultural and language skills, this experience will give students expertise in their chosen technological field, as well as provide them with excellent qualifications for managerial posts in global markets.

A bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, corresponding to 180 ECTS credits in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Information Technology, including courses corresponding to:

  • at least 60 ECTS credits in computer science, basic digital and analogue electronics, basic control theory, computer systems/computer architecture and programming.
  • at least 30 ECTS credits in mathematics, including analysis (calculus), linear algebra and mathematical statistics.
