Overview
About the programme
Why choose Urban, Energy and Environmental Planning?
You should choose Urban, Energy and Environmental Planning if you are interested in how we can create sustainable cities that are both functional for people and environmentally friendly. The programme is for those who want to take a cross-disciplinary approach to overcoming current challenges within the fields of climate, energy and urban development.
You will learn how to analyse and manage complex issues where you need to work across sectors such as transport, waste, energy and land use – and where decisions affect both everyday life and the future. You will gain insights into planning systems, infrastructure, technology and management – and learn how to collaborate with stakeholders such as citizens, companies and public authorities.
You can choose between four specialisations during your Master’s: Cities and Sustainability, Environmental Management and Sustainability Science, Sustainable Energy Planning and Management, Urban Planning and Management.
Educational content
The programme is centred around project work, where you work with your fellow students to address current, real-world issues. You will learn how to analyse complex planning situations, find connections between energy, environment and urban development – and develop solutions that work in practice. The programme combines theory, methodology and practice, and you will have close collaboration with your professors as well as external partners such as municipalities, companies or organisations.
