Key facts
The students in the Chemical Engineering programme of University of Bahrain would be trained in scientific inquiry, analysis and critical appraisal of technological issues through course and research work. The graduate program will lead the students for a productive career in chemical engineering profession. The program will strengthen the intellectual environment in the department and allow the faculty to be engaged in stimulating research. The program is based on a careful balance of core, elective courses, and a thesis.
Program Objectives
The Chemical Engineering MSc Program at University of Bahrain aims to:
- Produce graduates equipped to pursue careers in Advanced Chemical Engineering, in Industry, the public sector and non-governmental organization.
- Provide the basis for the recognition and understanding of the major features of Advanced Chemical Engineering.
- Develop an understanding of how this knowledge may be applied in practice in an economic and environmentally friendly fashion.
- Foster the acquisition and implementation of broad research and analytical skills related to chemical engineering.
- Attract highly motivated students, both from within GCC and from overseas.
- Develop new areas of teaching in response to the advance of scholarship and the needs of vocational training.
The PEOs are also published and distributed to the newly admitted students in the induction day at the university and at the department.

General requirements
- A minimum grade of 70% in the General Secondary School Certificate (Tawjihia) or its equivalent. No more than two years shall have passed since the applicant obtained his/her high General Secondary School Certificate. The Following General Secondary School specializations are accepted: ( Science, Commerce, Literature, Unified Tracks, Technical, Technical Stream – Advanced,Commerce Stream – Advanced, Relegion Tracks ).
- The applicant shall attend an aptitude test and a personal interview.
- Language competency is required according to the language of instruction of the specific program of study.
- The applicant shall be medically fit for the academic program he/she wishes to enroll in.
