The Department of Fine Art at Bergen Academy of Art and Design has the professional expertise and facilities to allow students to pursue in-depth studies and explore a wide range of artistic practices, media, materials, techniques and expressions. Critical thinking and a conceptual approach are fundamental to our programme. The workshops and laboratories play a central role in our approach to artistic practice, offering professional expertise and individual tutoring. Students receive support in shaping their artistic ideas and intentions. At the same time, they gain knowledge of the importance of materials and media in artistic practice.
