Overview

In the Computing and Software program from McMaster University, we seek to address society’s need for better methods of developing information systems and dependable, safe, secure, high-quality software systems.

Our research advances state-of-the-art computer software and hardware design, theoretical foundations of computing, and systems development. Faculty members are engaged in cross-disciplinary research at the intersection of computer science and areas such as health science, social science, business and management, and other natural science and engineering disciplines.

Co‑op is available for graduate students in the Computing and Software area. It’s offered as an optional graduate co‑op experience where students can gain 4 to 12 months of work experience (or more) in industry, government, nonprofits, startups, or research environments.

Optional: Co‑op is not mandatory for graduation in the Computing and Software graduate programs.

You are eligible to participate if you are a graduate student in good academic standing and have completed a minimum period of study (usually ≥ 8 months for master’s students) and have supervisor approval.
