Overview
The courses of this International Security Studies (MISS) programme offered at the University of Trento are based on an extensive articulation of the concept of security, aiming to complement the traditional strategic and military approach to encompass human security, economic and financial security, environmental and climate security, resource and food security, cyber and digital security.

Your learning experience over the 2 years will be enriched also with language skills as well as soft and transversal skills, thanks to an entire semester dedicated to a traineeship or research experience abroad, some practical experiences of innovative learning with leading international academics, experts and practitioners.

- Identify and analyse national and international security issues;
- Evaluate tools and policies for managing crises, conflicts and global challenges;
- Contribute to the design, implementation and monitoring of interventions at national and international levels.

Programme Structure
The course structure has been designed being aware that security in the contemporary world should be analysed through an inter- and multi- disciplinary approach: that is the reason why MISS students will find courses that are characterized by an ongoing dialogue between Political Science, Law, Economics, History, Political Sociology, Political Geography, Political Philosophy. In this way, we aim to offer a conceptualization of security that overcome the traditional strategic/military approach.

General requirements
- A Bachelor's or higher degree from an internationally recognized institution at university level include the equivalent of at least 60 credits from at least two of the following disciplinary areas:
- History and Philosophy
- Economics
- Law
- Political Science
- Sociology or Foreign Languages.
- A personal background with suitable professional vocational and academic experience appropriate to the interdisciplinary nature of the programme.
- Minimum GPA:24 out of 30 for Italian degree courses, or equivalent grade for international degrees (i.e.75%).
- English language proficiency at B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
- A basic knowledge of a second foreign language, other than Italian, from among the following: Arabic, Chinese, French, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, German.
- IELTS minimum skill level 5.5;
- TOEFL internet-based (or equivalent TOEFL paper based and computer based)minimum skill level 21;
- Cambridge B2 first minimum skill level 165.

Funding
Scholarships for non-EU citizens living abroad
Top-scored candidates will be entitled to receive a UniTrento scholarship according to availability. Students that benefit from a UniTrento scholarship will also have the tuition fees waived.
Scholarships for EU Citizens and Non-EU citizens regularly living in Italy
Information on the tuition fees and ISEE is available on Infostudenti. Please note that if you do not want to calculate the ISEE index (economic index of the financial situation of your family), you will have to pay the maximum amount.
Once the ISEE has been calculated students, if eligible, can apply for the Opera Universitaria scholarship, starting from June/July.
