Overview
Cold climate engineering has an increasingly important role to play in ensuring the sustainable development of the Arctic. New shipping routes as well as mining possibilities are emerging in the region. The development of new industry in the Arctic region is intensifying rapidly and the industry now needs engineers with specialised Arctic competence.
Graduates of the Nordic Master in Cold Climate Engineering at Aalto University will have the skills needed to meet the demands of the industry and to work in the fragile Arctic environment.
Career prospects

Cold climate engineering graduates are typically be employed by consulting, design, surveying and construction companies, the mining industry, oil companies, governmental bodies or research institutes and universities that have activities related to the Arctic. Possible duties include those of chief executive, development manager, team manager, consultant, specialist or researcher.
