Description
This endowed scholarship was established by former students, family, and friends of Jay Berman, the esteemed Daily Titan adviser from 1981 to 1992. The award seeks to recognize a student journalist who has made significant contributions to the campus newspaper. The scholarship will be awarded based on outstanding performance and writing for the Daily Titan campus student newspaper.

Eligibility
This annual scholarship is open to students who meet the following criteria:
- Junior or Senior
- Must be a declared major in Communications
- Must be a student journalist for the Daily Titan
- Must have at least one semester enrollment remaining at Cal State Fullerton and be enrolled in the full 2026-2027 academic year
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
Criteria:
Recipients will be selected based on:
- Outstanding performance and quality of writing/work published in the Daily Titan
- Significant contributions to the production and quality of the newspaper
- Academic standing (minimum 2.5 GPA)

Complete the Fall 2026 CSUF Scholarship Application within the Titan Scholarship Portal.
Work Experience Section: In the Work Experience section, you must select: I am a student journalist for the Daily Titan campus student newspaper.
Supplemental – Attachments: In the Attachments section of the application, you must upload at least one example of your published work from the Daily Titan.
Supplemental Materials – Letters of Recommendation: Enter the contact information for the adviser of the Daily Titan.
