Description
Competitive scholarships are awarded by the various concentrations and programs within the SPPH. It is up to the concentration/program to determine the amount and number of Rural Health Competitive Scholarship they will be awarding each year based on the funds available and other factors determined by each concentration/program.
Benefits
The scholarship amount is determined at the time of the award (minimum of $2500 for semester of the practicum experience). Scholarship funds are intended to defray costs of tuition and standard fees. The number of scholarships awarded each round is based on the funds available.
Eligibility
- GPA of 3.0 or higher and in good academic standing;
- Declaration of full-time enrollment status for the semesters of the award;
- Letter of support from employer, faculty, mentor, or advisor;
- APE proposal
- In addition to conducting a practicum or completing a course project in a rural area or with a rural agency, scholarship recipients must also maintain satisfactory progress on their degree plans and remain in good academic standing.
