Description

The former student Wyatt McMahon passed away from a brain tumor in September 2018 at the age of 41. Wyatt was a great friend and colleague to many of us, and he will be deeply missed.

In his honor, this scholarship seeks to recruit the best and brightest Texas Tech University undergraduate or graduate student to TTUHSC Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, Biomedical Sciences Ph.D. program

Eligibility

  • New students matriculating Summer or Fall.
  • Undergraduate degree awarded or degree in progress from Texas Tech University
  • Applicants must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident
  • Award must not be divided
  • Scholarship awarded by GSBS Dean by recommendation from the Biomedical Sciences Ph.D. Selection committee
  • Those awarded scholarships will be notified upon admission offer or in the admission letter

Selection Criteria:

The Biomedical Sciences Ph.D. Selection Committee will select the nominee for consideration based on the following selection criteria:

  • GPAs
  • GRE (if applicable)
  • Research experience (including meeting abstracts, presentations and publications) and/or potential for research experience
  • Applicant CV
  • Admission Interview
