Description
Dave and Lucy Smith Media Intern Scholarship for Minorities is offered by the department of Media from Ball State University for international students.

Eligibility
- High potential for success in the media industry, regardless of GPA.
- Demonstrated financial need.
- Preference given to African-American students
- Proof of secured internship.
- Actively enrolled as a major or minor in the Department of Media at Ball State at the time of application.
- Must enroll in MDIA 391 at Ball State for a semester that falls within the 12 months immediately following the announcement of the award.
- Meet all Media internship requirements.
Following completion of their internships, recipients are required to write an evaluation paper on the following:
- What the internship meant to you.
- The significance of the internship in preparing you to work in the media.
- Suggest how to make the internship experience more useful.
