University of Chester can support you financially if you are admitted to one of its study programmes as an international student.

Eligibility
To be eligible for the scholarship, candidates must:
- Be a citizen of or have been granted refugee status by an eligible Commonwealth country.
- Be permanently resident in an eligible Commonwealth country;
- Be available to start your academic studies in the UK by the start of the UK academic year in September.
- By September, hold a first degree at of at least upper second-class level (2:1) standard
OR
- By September, hold a first degree at either lower-second class (2:2) standard plus a relevant postgraduate qualification (usually a Master’s degree).
- Meet the University’s English Language entry criteria for postgraduate study;
- Not have studied or worked for one (academic) year or more in a high-income country#
- Be unable to afford to study in the UK without this scholarship
- Have provided all supporting documentation in the required format.

- Submit a University of Chester International application with all supporting documents and a Commonwealth Expression of Interest. When making your University of Chester application , please ensure you indicate you are applying for the Commonwealth Scholarship.
- Submit an online Commonwealth Scholarship Commission application via the Electronic Application System (EAS). You will need to enter your University of Chester application number on the EAS form. You will be automatically issued with this number once you have completed and submitted the University of Chester International Application form.
