The Commonwealth Master’s Scholarship supports talented students from eligible low- and middle-income Commonwealth countries who could not otherwise afford postgraduate study in the UK.

Description

Funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, the scholarship enables recipients to undertake a full-time, one-year taught master’s degree and develop knowledge and skills that contribute to sustainable development in their home countries.

Benefits

Fee waiver, air fare and stipend.

Eligibility

To be considered for these scholarships, applicants must:

  • Be a citizen of or have been granted refugee status by an eligible Commonwealth country, or be a British Protected Person.
  • Be permanently resident in an eligible Commonwealth country.
  • Be available to start academic studies in the UK by the start of the UK academic year.
  • Hold a first degree of at least upper second-class (2:1) honours standard, or a lower second-class degree and a relevant postgraduate qualification (usually a Master’s degree)*.
  • Be unable to afford to study in the UK without this scholarship.
  • Have provided all supporting documentation in the required format.

Applicants must:

Submit an application through CSC Central.

Apply separately to an approved national nominating agency or selected non-governmental or charitable organisation.

Upload proof of citizenship or refugee status.

Upload complete higher education transcripts.

Upload at least two signed references in PDF format.

Follow any additional application rules and deadlines established by their nominating organisation.

The Commonwealth Scholarship Commission does not accept direct applications without nomination.
