The Alumni Fund Post Graduate Sanctuary Scholarship supports an asylum seeker living in the UK who is starting an eligible taught postgraduate programme at the University of Bath.

Description

The scholarship covers tuition fees and provides financial assistance with course-related and living costs. It does not cover wider costs such as legal fees.

Benefits

A fee waiver covering the full cost of tuition fees.

A bursary up to £20,780.

Eligibility

You can apply for a Sanctuary Scholarship if you hold one of the following eligible immigration statuses before submitting your application to study at Bath. This is either in your own right or as a dependent of someone with this status:

  • UK asylum seeker
  • UK discretionary leave to remain (as a result of an asylum application)
  • UK limited leave to remain (as a result of an asylum application)

You must also be:

  • a new taught postgraduate student
  • resident in the UK

You are not eligible if:

  • you are able to receive taught postgraduate student loans

To be eligible for the scholarship, you must have applied to study a full-time or part-time course with the degree outcome of:

  • MSc
  • MA
  • MBA
  • stand-alone MRes

Applicants must:

Apply for an eligible University of Bath course and receive a conditional or unconditional offer.

Complete and upload the fee classification questionnaire and evidence of their asylum seeker status through Application Tracker.

Apply through the Sanctuary Scholarship application form.

Applicants must also indicate in the Finance section of their course application that they want to be considered for the Sanctuary Scholarship.
