The Young Adult Carers Bursary is available to full-time undergraduate and postgraduate taught students at Cardiff University.

The bursary forms part of Cardiff University's wider support package for young adult carers, which also includes dedicated advice, wellbeing support, and guidance through the Together at Cardiff programme.

Eligibility

  • Must be a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate taught student.
  • Must be under 25 when starting the course.
  • Must be eligible for Home (UK) tuition fee status.
  • Must provide unpaid care for a family member or friend with an illness, disability, mental health condition, or addiction.

Must provide supporting evidence, such as:

  • a letter from a GP, school, medical professional, or carers' organisation; or
  • evidence of receiving Carer's Allowance before starting the course.
