The Gareth Pierce Bursary supports undergraduate students studying Mathematics through the medium of Welsh. Established by WJEC in memory of its former Chief Executive, the bursary encourages Welsh-medium study in mathematics by providing financial support during the first year of study.

Description

The Gareth Pierce Bursary is administered by Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol on behalf of WJEC. It is available to undergraduate students studying at least 33% of their Mathematics degree through the medium of Welsh. Up to three bursaries are awarded annually to eligible students beginning their studies.

Benefits

£3,000 for the first year only.

Eligibility

  • Must be an undergraduate student.
  • Must study at least 33% (40 credits) of a Mathematics degree through the medium of Welsh.
  • Must be eligible for a means-tested student loan.
  • Must meet the eligibility requirements published by Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol.
