Description
The Estranged Student Bursary is available to full-time undergraduate and postgraduate taught students who are under 25 and have been assessed by Student Finance as independent due to estrangement.
The bursary forms part of Cardiff University's wider support package for estranged students, which also includes dedicated advice, mentoring, and assistance with accommodation and wellbeing.
Benefits
£1,000 per academic year.
Eligibility
- Must be a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate taught student.
- Must be under 25 when starting the course.
- Must have Home fee status.
- Must be irreconcilably estranged from both biological/adoptive parents (or only living parent).
- Must have been assessed by Student Finance as an independent student due to estrangement.
- Applications are considered on a case-by-case basis, and evidence of estrangement is required.
