Description
The Avon and Somerset Police Widening Participation Bursary is jointly funded by Avon and Somerset Police and the UWE Bristol School of Social Sciences.
It is available to new students on the Social Science Foundation Year who intend to progress to either the Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship (PCDA) or the Professional Policing Degree.
Four bursaries are awarded each year to help students from Global Majority backgrounds gain the Level 3 qualification required for entry into these policing pathways.
Benefits
The bursary is worth £5,760 and is paid towards course fees.
Eligibility
- Must be from a Global Majority background.
- Must intend to join Avon and Somerset Constabulary.
- Must hold a conditional or unconditional offer for the Social Science Foundation Year at UWE Bristol.

Why they wish to become a police officer.
How the Social Science Foundation Year will help them achieve this goal.
Applications are assessed jointly by a representative from UWE Bristol's Policing Team and a member of the Avon and Somerset Police Talent Recruitment Team.
