Description
The Global Horizons Award was established to provide financial support for undergraduate students undertaking an overseas study, research, or work placement related to their degree. The award is available to Home students participating in an international experience lasting at least 10 days that has a direct academic or professional benefit. Successful recipients are required to submit receipts and a reflective report after completing their trip.
Benefits
The award provides up to £3,500 to help cover the costs of an eligible international placement, research project, or study trip.
Eligibility
- Must be currently enrolled on a full-time or part-time undergraduate course at Bath Spa University.
- Must be a Home (UK) student.
- Must use the funding before 31 May of the final year of undergraduate study.
- The proposed study, research, or work placement abroad must last at least 10 days.
- The activity must have a direct impact on the student's studies, research, or career.
- Must have a household income below £42,875 as assessed by Student Finance.
- Must meet the eligibility criteria for either Stream One or Stream Two.

Applicants must complete the online application form through AppHub under Scholarship Applications → BSU Funds for International Travel. The application must include:
A referee from Bath Spa University.
A supporting statement (approximately 500 words).
Evidence supporting the proposed costs.
If awarded, recipients must submit receipts and a 1,500-word reflective report after returning from their trip.
