Description
The Heads of School Research Scholarship is available to international students applying for eligible postgraduate research programmes, including PhD, MPhil and Master's by Research degrees at Bangor University. The scholarship is intended for applicants who do not meet the criteria for the Dean's Scholarship but whom the relevant Academic School considers worthy of admission based on their academic potential. The award provides a tuition fee reduction for each year of study, subject to satisfactory academic progress.
Benefits
The scholarship provides a 10% reduction in the published postgraduate research tuition fee for each year of study. Continuation of the scholarship is subject to acceptable academic progression.
Eligibility
- Must be an international student.
- Must apply for an eligible PhD, MPhil or Master's by Research programme.
- Must be self-funded or partially funded.
- Applicants fully sponsored by a third party are not eligible.
- Must not have the equivalent of a UK First Class honours degree or a Master's with Distinction.
- Must be recommended for the scholarship by the relevant Academic School.
- Both full-time and part-time applicants are eligible.
- Must pay the international tuition fee rate.

No separate scholarship application is required. All eligible international applicants are automatically considered when they apply for an eligible postgraduate research programme through Bangor University's application portal. Successful applicants are notified in their offer letter.
