In partnership with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign, Edge Hill University is offering five scholarships to students in (Ghana, India, Kenya, Turkey, Vietnam) applying for postgraduate courses.

Description

The GREAT Scholarships 2025 programme, launched by the British Council together with 72 UK universities, supports postgraduate students from Bangladesh, China, Egypt, Ghana, Greece, Kenya, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Thailand, Turkey and Vietnam to access world-class UK higher education opportunities.

Benefits

The scholarship programme offers financial support of a minimum of £10,000 to students pursuing one-year postgraduate study in the UK. Students can apply for courses in a range of subjects, at the 72 institutions across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

This scholarship provides a full tuition fee waiver of up to £17,000, and successful candidates will receive an updated offer letter reflecting this award. Please note that this scholarship cannot be combined with any other scholarships, so recipients will not be eligible for additional scholarship funding.

Eligibility

Candidates must:

  • be passport holders of Ghana, India, Kenya, Turkey or Vietnam
  • be a self-funded student
  • have made an application to study a full-time postgraduate degree at Edge Hill University for September intake.
  • hold an offer for a full-time postgraduate degree at Edge Hill University for September intake by closing date 
  • not be in receipt of any other scholarship, including external scholarships such as Chevening, etc.

Once you have received your offer to study on a full-time, postgraduate programme at Edge Hill University, you can apply for the British Council GREAT Scholarship by completing the application form.

Applications will then be considered by an awarding panel. The panel will consist of representatives from Admissions, the International Office team, and the International Student Support Officer. The panel will assess the applications based on your responses given in the scholarship application. All panel members understand that applications will have a broad range of differing skills, attributes and experiences, and shortlisted applications may be asked to attend a video interview with the selection committee.

Final award recipients and reserve candidates will be decided by the panel and be contacted no later than 30 June.
