1040 Abroad is a leading accounting firm offering tax prep for U.S. citizens in over 150 countries and is proud to support American students who are studying around the world.
The 1040 Abroad International Studies Scholarship Initiative provides financial scholarship assistance to those studying outside the U.S. under the auspices of an accredited academic institution. Scholarships are available for full-semester programs.
Scholarship funds, of at least $1,000, are distributed directly to your accredited university on your behalf.
Funding for the 1040 Abroad International Studies Scholarship is awarded based on an individual’s merit and financial need. Their selection process considers the following factors:
Academic achievement, including current and overall GPA.
The extent of community involvement.
Leadership skills.
Achievements in specific areas (debate, performing arts, athletics, etc.).
An essay on a topic relevant to the purpose of the scholarship.
Academic and non-academic awards and achievements.
A description of extracurricular involvement.
Copies of high school and/or college transcripts.
Financial need.
Application deadlines for December/Spring scholarships are November 1st and application deadlines for July/Fall scholarships are June 1st.
