Description

The fund is supported by the Daniel Howard Foundation and is in memory of Daniel Howard Marcus – an elite rower who was training to represent Israel internationally. Recipients of the fund are known as Daniel Howard International Sports Scholars.

Benefits

The scholarship provides:

Up to $25,000 USD to cover one year of full-degree support for talented athletes.

The opportunity to study or conduct research in any of the nearly two dozen English-taught programs offered by the Lowy International School.

Eligibility

  • International applicants of all nationalities, gender and religions are eligible.
  • Applicants must demonstrate a high level of sports achievement, be between the ages of 17 and 30, and must either be current or future Lowy International School students.
  • Those who have applied or intend to apply for a program will also be considered; however, no funds will be granted until enrollment is complete. Previous recipients are eligible to apply for a second year.

Scholarship recipients will be selected by a committee of representatives made up of staff from the Lowy International School, as well as those affiliated with professional sports at TAU.

Applicants will be judged based on their sports achievement, their academics, and the availability of relevant training resources and infrastructure in Israel to support their continued athletic involvement.
