Valdivia is a great city to study in, because it has a lot of nature and activities. The university has also a lot of green areas to be in. Specifically, the geology major is relatively new (10 years), but it has good teachers and a good curricular framework. There are many field trips, during which one can learn a lot.

I think that we have a lot of teachers that are quite humane and caring, but we are lacking in research and in our capacity to teach things effectively and efficiently. Most of our teachers haven't been through courses on pedagogy/andragogy, and they have a lot of troubles with planning classes and planning the curriculum in general.
